EVOLUTIONS: A DVD Series From CONCRETE WAVE

ARRIVING September

THE CHALLENGE:
A number of skateboard companies create DVD's that are truly remarkable. They showcase all types of skateboarding. However, the cost to duplicate and distribute DVD's means that only a fairly small audience gets a chance to enjoy them. Other companies have some truly amazing footage, but don't have the resources to put together a complete DVD.

Wouldn't it be great if you could showcase highlights of your DVD and promote your company to THOUSANDS of QUALIFIED prospects without the huge costs of duplication and distribution? Wouldn't it be great to have these DVDs delivered to skate shops and interested buyers?

THE SOLUTION:
Concrete Wave Magazine and CMB (the producers of the film library of Greg Weaver and Spyder Wills), teamed up to create a DVD series entitled Evolutions. The first issue had a production run of 6,000 FREE copies and it arrived September 2005. The DVD contained over 2 hours worth of skate footage from 15 companies including Powell Classic, Sector 9, Gravity and Landyachtz.

We sent the Evolutions DVD out to Concrete Wave subscribers and select skateshops and distributors. The feedback was excellent and all 6,000 copies were gone in one week! It also is available as a free download at Silverfish Longboarding. To date, over 70,000 people have downloaded Evolutions. For Vol 2, we decided to step things up. We increased the number of DVD’s to 10,000. This is an increase of 4,000 copies from our first edition! In 2007 we grew to 15,000 copies!

RATES:

Gold: $995 Premier sponsorship - only 6 available
Logo on back cover and on DVD
Up to 12 minutes of footage

Silver: $595
Logo on back cover
Up to 6 minutes of footage

NEXT STEPS FOR YOU:
Think about the cost to produce a DVD - mastering, designing the disc and package, duplication, packaging and distribution. We're doing it all for you, at a fraction of the price. All you do is supply your finished footage - we do the rest. Space is limited however. So, if you'd like to be a part of Evolutions, please do the following:

1. Contact Michael Brooke at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Micheal will then book space for you and send you out an insertion contract.

2. Start working on your footage. All footage for this edition MUST BE DELIVERED by July 15

OUR READERS WRITE...

There just is no other magazine that even comes close in terms of covering the things that really interest me. Your mag rocks!
Steve C.

The best thing about purchasing a new Concrete Wave mag, is when I bring it back home and my friends and I study the pictures very closely. You guys are doing an awesome job with the history of the sport and the present time skaters. Keep it up!
Thanks again, Mike F.

It is with big pleasure that I would like to renew my subscription to your fabulous magazine, just took a quick peak at the new issue and as always it looks very promising. Keep up the good work you guys, and with this payment I send you tons of good vibes from Belgium, Europe, and I'll try to make something on how we live downhilling in a rather flat country.
Kenny R

Thanks for your magazine and all you have done for the sport. I can't express enough what a true inspiration it is to see this kind of dedication to the sport. It is not an exaggeration when I say your magazine and being exposed to this whole other side of skating has literally changed my life.
Jim M.

I've bought several longboards and a park board all thanks to the advertisers in Concrete Wave.
Keith L.

I'm a 38 year old reborn skater. I like your magazine because it's the only one that is into the types of skating that I'm into, specifically pools and halfpipes. I also like the size and shape of your magazine which I find unique and classy.Keep up the good work and I'll keep on buying your magazine whenever I see it at the newsstands.
Peace, Doug B

I'm now 40 years old and have been skating since about 1976. Current magazines on the sport don't really speak to me. Though those who've mastered current street skating styles are truly impressive athletes, 200 pictures per month of guys sliding down railings and flying 10 feet above horizontal planes is not what I'm about. I expect to be riding with my kids in a few years--if they're interested and, all things according to plan, hope to be engaged in some form of riding for so long as I'm able to stand under my own power. Thanks for keeping us going.
Michael S

I am writing to say thanks. Thanks for changing my lifestyle and inspiring me to pick up a skateboard again. Thanks for making me feel like a kid. Thanks for getting me so pumped on popping manuals down the street on the way to the corner store, or carving big turns down a hill on a sunny day. Thanks for reminding me what's really important at the end of the day. Thanks for the nostalgic trip down memory lane. Thanks for the articles and pictures in your mag, which are truly amazing. Thanks for making me look at the urban landscape from a different perspective. Thanks for giving me something to daydream about while I am sitting in my cubicle.
Steve M.

Thanks for putting together an awesome magazine. I'm 38 years old,the vibe of your magazine has rekindled my passion for skating.I've picked up other skate mags from time to time but was disappointed with 200 pages of ads featuring hand rails. Keep up the good work and thanks again.
Bob A

What a refreshing magazine! All the articles are really well written, and the photos are excellent. I am also very impressed on the limited amount of ads throughout. I have just started skating again last year after about a 15 year hiatus, and I couldn't believe the last issue had photos of my local park from a bowl contest in Arlington VA, and the cove in Santa Monica where I had just visited and skated! Thank you for producing such a quality magazine! Keep up the great work!
Karl

Definitely the best skateboard mag around. By showcasing all the different aspects of the scene, it shows the rest of the world that skateboarding is much more than landing 360 heelflips or sporting the latest set of Van's. Even the ads are cool...
Henry

I just got back into skateboarding and now teaching my 10 yr old daughter. I'm old school (age 47) and miss my Hang Ten and G&S boards but it feels great though to hit the pavement. Your magazine covers slalom, downhill, and bowls unlike the other mags which is very refreshing. Your magazine has helped me join and network with fellow boarders.
Jed E

Your magazine is a valiant effort-- truly top-notch. I mean that from every angle. Your magazine kicks ass. Again, great job all the way around. What a pleasure to see REAL skateboarding again. I can never thank you enough for that. I'm already looking forward to the next issue.
Stephen
