A DVD SERIES FROM CONCRETE WAVE

THE CHALLENGE:
A number of skateboard companies create DVD's that are truly remarkable. They showcase all types of skateboarding. However, the cost to duplicate and distribute DVD's means that only a fairly small audience gets a chance to enjoy them. Other companies have some truly amazing footage, but don't have the resources to put together a complete DVD.

Wouldn't it be great if you could showcase highlights of your DVD and promote your company to THOUSANDS of QUALIFIED prospects without the huge costs of duplication and distribution? Wouldn't it be great to have these DVDs delivered to skate shops and interested buyers?

THE SOLUTION:
Concrete Wave Magazine decided to create a DVD series entitled Evolutions. The first issue had a production run of 6,000 FREE copies and it arrived September 2005. The DVD contained over 2 hours worth of skate footage from 15 companies including Powell Classic, Sector 9, Gravity and Landyachtz. We sent the Evolutions DVD out to Concrete Wave subscribers and select skateshops and distributors. The feedback was excellent and all 6,000 copies were gone in one week! It also is available as a free download at Silverfish Longboarding. To date, over 70,000 people have downloaded Evolutions.

Think about the cost to produce a DVD - mastering, designing the disc and package, duplication, packaging and distribution. We're doing it all for you, at a fraction of the price. All you do is supply your finished footage - we do the rest. Space is limited however. So, if you'd like to be a part of Evolutions, please do the following:

I'm now 40 years old and have been skating since about 1976. Current magazines on the sport don't really speak to me. Though those who've mastered current street skating styles are truly impressive athletes, 200 pictures per month of guys sliding down railings and flying 10 feet above horizontal planes is not what I'm about. I expect to be riding with my kids in a few years--if they're interested and, all things according to plan, hope to be engaged in some form of riding for so long as I'm able to stand under my own power. Thanks for keeping us going.

What a refreshing magazine! All the articles are really well written, and the photos are excellent. I am also very impressed on the limited amount of ads throughout. I have just started skating again last year after about a 15 year hiatus, and I couldn't believe the last issue had photos of my local park from a bowl contest in Arlington VA, and the cove in Santa Monica where I had just visited and skated! Thank you for producing such a quality magazine! Keep up the great work!

Definitely the best skateboard mag around. By showcasing all the different aspects of the scene, it shows the rest of the world that skateboarding is much more than landing 360 heelflips or sporting the latest set of Van's. Even the ads are cool...

I just got back into skateboarding and now teaching my 10 yr old daughter. I'm old school (age 47) and miss my Hang Ten and G&S boards but it feels great though to hit the pavement. Your magazine covers slalom, downhill, and bowls unlike the other mags which is very refreshing. Your magazine has helped me join and network with fellow boarders.
